In July of 2012, ATO Slip Ring was found. We had limited resources, a primitive work facility in the corner of a dirt-floored airplane hangar, only a couple of potential customers, and one great product.

Our original product was a component remote control kit that was used to remotely operate truck mounted cranes or excavators from the rear operator cab. An important part of these kits was a collector ring, which is more commonly referred to today as a slip ring.

ATO Slip rings were adapted to other types of rotating machines and soon ATO Slip rings became a leading supplier of industrial slip rings. ATO Slip rings grew to become a major supplier of motorized cable reeling systems to the marine, mining, aero-space, and general industrial markets.

In 2020, the company acquired the rights to build a revolutionary new type of "contactless” power supply system: “IPT” (Inductive Power Transfer).
