VOCSens is a spin-off from the Sensors, Microsystems and Actuators Laboratory of Louvain (SMALL) research group, within the Electrical Engineering Department (ELEN), Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics and Applied Mathematics (ICTEAM), Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. UCL is one of the most prestigious universities in Europe and home to worldly recognized laboratories. It relies on a strong expertise based on more than 10 years research on CMOS-compatible environmental sensors development and characterization, including gas, temperature, humidity and Pressure Sensors, as well as the CMOS design of read-out interfaces.

The spin-off aims to the development and commercialization of ultra-low-power low-cost multi-pixel CMOS gas microsensors dedicated to selective volatile compounds detection in the Internet of Things and the Industry 4.0.

EnviCam® – Your environmental camera:

EnviCam® gathers well-known gas sensing technologies and environmental sensors together with our own developments within a unique smart communicating system based on LPWAN technologies, for both indoor and outdoor monitoring, transforming physicochemical parameters into pre-processed data, towards continuous information and increased safety. The main applications are found in environmental monitoring and industrial control (EHS, HVAC systems, alarm, etc.).

We create all our own hardware and software in-house and manufacture hardware using state of the art gas and laser scattering sensors to monitor air quality both indoor and outdoor, in real-time, deploying a full range of connectivity options including WiFi, 2G/3G/4G/5G, NB-IOT, LoRaWAN and Bluetooth. We make use of Edge Computing and AI with data accessible to view on an online management dashboard or APIs.
