Bouygues Energies & Services is an integrated energy/services operator and a global leader in digital and industrial transformation. The company employs over 21,000 people across Germany, Canada, France, Great Britain, Italy, and Switzerland. A significant focus for the multinational is on accelerating digital transformation across its own project portfolio and finding new and innovative ways to improve processes. In the UK, the company's Facilities Management division was particularly struggling with paper-based processes that were hindering its aspiration to become more data-driven.
The Solution
FlowForma Process Automation was chosen as the digitalization solution for Bouygues after workshops explored process pain points and compared various products and services. The solution was preferred because it took just six hours to build a process that took 24 with Microsoft’s Power Apps. It also had a simple interface that was comfortable for both developers and end-users. The solution works well on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and computers, and can be used offline if necessary, re-syncing when a connection is made. Among the first processes to be digitalized was stock management, a paper-based procedure where there had been discrepancies and shortages because it was too easy for people to make mistakes. FlowForma Process Automation was used to develop a three-step process: a QR code of a stock item is scanned on a smartphone, the number of items is entered, and the order is submitted.
