The Challenge
Agero, a leading provider of digital driver assistance services, faced significant challenges as it transitioned to operating nearly 100% in the cloud. The company needed to secure its extensive AWS environment, which included services like AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Kinesis, and Amazon Redshift. With over 150 engineers working in this environment, the complexity of managing security and eliminating vulnerabilities increased. Agero required a solution that could provide 24x7 monitoring and detection, integrate with existing security tools, and offer comprehensive visibility across its network. The company also faced the challenge of recruiting and training a large number of security experts to manage a 24x7 security operations center, which was both time-consuming and resource-intensive.
About The Customer
Agero is a leading B2B provider of digital driver assistance services, protecting over 115 million vehicles in partnership with major automobile manufacturers and insurance carriers. The company operates nearly 100% in the cloud, leveraging AWS infrastructure to handle data from approximately 12 million service events annually. Headquartered in Medford, Massachusetts, Agero manages one of the largest national networks of service providers and is a member of The Cross Country Group. The company offers a range of services, including breakdown assistance dispatch management, accident management, consumer affairs, and connected vehicle capabilities. Agero's mission is to rethink the vehicle ownership experience through a combination of passionate people and data-driven technology.
The Solution
To address its security challenges, Agero partnered with Arctic Wolf, a provider of comprehensive security operations solutions. Arctic Wolf's Concierge Security® Team offered Agero immediate access to security experts who managed threat monitoring and detection, reducing the burden on Agero's internal IT team. This allowed Agero's engineers to focus on proactive development rather than dealing with alert fatigue. Arctic Wolf's solutions integrated seamlessly with Agero's existing AWS environment and other security tools like Crowdstrike and Mimecast. This integration provided Agero with broad visibility into service usage and potential vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure cloud environment. The partnership enabled Agero to innovate and scale its operations safely, leveraging AWS technologies to create new product lines and enhance existing services.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
