Box, an enterprise content management platform, faced a significant challenge after going public in 2015. They were required to conduct user access reviews in NetSuite, a process that proved to be time-consuming and expensive. The data generated from NetSuite was overwhelming and unusable for the business. There were thousands of permissions associated with each role, and the list was growing exponentially. One person was dedicated to reviewing every permission and role, a process that took an entire quarter. This inefficient process led Box to seek a more streamlined solution.
About The Customer
Box is an enterprise content management platform that addresses both simple and complex challenges. These range from sharing and accessing files on mobile devices to sophisticated business processes like data governance and retention. After going public in 2015, Box was required to conduct user access reviews in NetSuite. The process was manual, time-consuming, and expensive, with one person dedicated to reviewing every permission and role. The data generated from NetSuite was overwhelming and unusable for the business.
The Solution
To meet the regulations imposed by the Sarbanes-Oxley act, Box needed a solution that could help them review their thousands of permissions and users to find conflicts. They found Fastpath Assure, an audit and compliance solution with an out-of-the-box ruleset for conflict analysis. Box installed Assure themselves without the need for outside guidance. After easily installing the bundle in NetSuite, they were able to transfer all of their roles straight into the platform. Assure immediately started reporting on permission conflicts in need of mitigation. The review process was significantly shortened, going from a three-month manual process down to a matter of weeks.
