The Challenge
Clarion Housing, one of the largest housing providers in England, was facing significant challenges with their existing file system. The system was unable to perform all the functions they required, which was affecting their efficiency and productivity. Some of the key issues they faced included the inability to add metadata, which resulted in poor search results, limited user numbers, poor interoperability with other systems, and the inability to set time periods for image life. These limitations were hindering their ability to effectively manage and share their digital assets, including images, documents, logos, and video content.

Clarion Housing is one of the largest housing providers in England, with over 125,000 properties in over 120 local authorities. They provide a range of housing and community-focused services to over 350,000 residents living in their homes. Clarion Housing is part of the Clarion Housing Group, which includes both commercial and not-for-profit subsidiaries. The group undertakes a range of commercial activities to invest in their core social mission of supporting residents and providing affordable homes.
The Solution
Clarion Housing chose Asset Bank's Digital Asset Management system after a tender process. The system fulfilled almost all the criteria that Clarion Housing was looking for. The new system provided a branded login screen for asset users and allowed Clarion Housing to share all their digital files among staff. The advanced search functionality of Asset Bank allowed Clarion Housing to assign as much metadata to a file as needed, making all assets easily searchable. The system also offered auto-complete functionality and multiple browsing methods. One of the most important functionalities that Clarion Housing required was the ability to integrate the Digital Asset Management system with a templating system that sits on a third-party server. Asset Bank's team used the publishing functionality to achieve this, allowing all template images to be managed and updated in Asset Bank and any changes to be synced across overnight to their other application.
