The Challenge
Fred Meng, a web designer and developer, was looking for a no-code platform with powerful backend capabilities to build an online learning platform. The platform, named Classpe, was envisioned to offer live streaming lessons, pop quizzes, and more for teachers and students. The challenge was to find a platform that could seamlessly integrate the app’s frontend with databases and a payment API. Additionally, the platform needed to allow teachers to create and upload materials, live stream lessons, assign pop quizzes, and more. It also needed to record and save lectures for students to refer back to.
About The Customer
Classpe is an online learning platform for teachers and students. It offers live streaming lessons, pop quizzes, and more. Using the dashboard, students and teachers can manage their various courses and also access and download content for their classes. When a student signs up, they are directed to a marketplace, called “LearnStore,” where they can discover available courses prepared by verified teachers. The first 3 lessons are free, after which students and their parents can begin making payments with PayPal. Teachers have access to an admin panel, which allows them to create and upload materials, live stream lessons, assign pop quizzes, and more.
The Solution
Fred discovered Bubble, a leader in the no-code movement, which offered a powerful point-and-click web editor and cloud hosting platform. Bubble allowed him to integrate the app’s frontend with databases, as well as a PayPal payment API. With Bubble’s robust backend capabilities, Classpe was able to record and save lectures so that students could refer back to previous lessons. The platform also allowed teachers to create and upload materials, live stream lessons, assign pop quizzes, and more. The platform was built in such a way that when a student signs up, they are directed to a marketplace, called “LearnStore,” where they can discover available courses prepared by verified teachers. The first 3 lessons are free, after which students and their parents can begin making payments with PayPal.
Operational Impact
  • The use of Bubble's no-code platform has allowed Classpe to create an effective and efficient online learning platform. The seamless integration with databases and the PayPal payment API has made it easy for students and parents to access and pay for courses. The ability to record and save lectures has also enhanced the learning experience for students, allowing them to refer back to previous lessons. The platform has also empowered teachers by giving them the tools to create and upload materials, live stream lessons, and assign pop quizzes. The future plans for the app include developing a panel for parents, which will encourage them to monitor their children’s progress.
Quantitative Benefit
  • 81 Malaysian students have signed up as users and started learning.
  • It took only 7 days to build the first Bubble app.
  • The first 3 lessons are offered for free to students.
