The Challenge
The Alliance of Indiana Rural Water was facing a challenge with their member information management. They had their member information scattered across several databases. The member contact information and event tracking were in two separate places, making it difficult to monitor their most active members. The organization was using a home-built Microsoft Access-based database that could only be accessed at the office. This posed a significant challenge as it limited the accessibility of the data and made it difficult to manage and track member activities efficiently.
About The Customer
The Alliance of Indiana Rural Water is a nonprofit membership association of over 700 water and wastewater systems and related professionals. It is Indiana's only representative to the National Rural Water Association and is the largest utility association in the U.S. with more than 26,696 members. The association is headquartered in Franklin, Indiana. The organization generates a revenue of 10 billion EURO and has a workforce of 10 employees.
The Solution
To address the challenge, the organization chose to consolidate its databases into the GoMembers OnDemand Association Management System. The company uses the Connect Module to automate online registrations from its current web solution directly to the database. This solution provided a centralized database that could be accessed remotely, thereby improving the accessibility of the member information. The automation of online registrations to the database made it easy to track member activities and eliminated the need for time-consuming manual data entry.
Operational Impact
  • The association can now access its database from anywhere, at anytime, from any computer with Internet access.
  • Automating online registrations to the database makes it easy to track member activities.
  • The solution has eliminated the need for time-consuming manual data entry.
