The Challenge
Dairy Nutraceuticals (DNL), a New Zealand-based manufacturer and distributor of fortified powders, was facing increased compliance requirements related to food safety. These requirements focused on induction, training, and retraining of staff. The food manufacturing industry is heavily regulated, with regular stringent audits and increasing customer expectations for quality and safety. DNL needed to manage all their compliance documentation effectively. Moreover, the industry's growing focus on training and operator competence meant that DNL had to provide evidence that their staff members were not only trained but also competent in operating critical parts of the process. They also had to manage health and safety risks, financial risks, and production risks. The challenge was further compounded by the need to deliver training in different formats and capture records of training or competency.

Dairy Nutraceuticals (DNL) is a New Zealand-based company that specializes in enhancing lives through natural nutrition. They manufacture a range of fortified powders that are targeted at the nutritional needs of specific age groups - from complete supplementary infant nutrition through to support for heart and brain function for the elderly. As a company in the food manufacturing industry, DNL is subject to stringent regulations and audits, and faces increasing customer expectations for the quality and safety of their products. They are also required to meet increased compliance requirements related to health and safety, focusing on induction, training, and retraining.
The Solution
DNL adopted Nintex Promapp to manage their compliance documentation. All standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each business function were housed within their processes, supported by documents that could be downloaded as required. The Nintex Promapp risk add-on hosted their health and safety risks, with plans to expand it to include financial and production risks. Continuous improvement processes like non-conformance, change management, complaints, health and safety hazards and incidents, and suggestions for improvement were managed with the improvement add-on. DNL also linked their training directly with their approved procedures and documents in Nintex Promapp. This allowed them to have all their processes, documents, and training in one platform, making it easy to organize training and capture records. It also helped with forward planning by providing an overview of what training was required across the organization.
