The Challenge
PVH Corp. is a U.S.-based apparel company and one of the largest global apparel companies, with $8.2 billion in 2016 revenues coming from a diversified portfolio of brands, including CALVIN KLEIN, Tommy Hilfiger, Van Heusen, and IZOD. The company has a strong presence in wholesale, and many retail locations around the globe. For PVH, being able to see products from creation through the end consumer’s purchase is key. However, they lacked end-to-end visibility to their entire supply chain, which hindered their ability to align demand, fulfillment, and capacity planning. This lack of visibility made it difficult for everyone along the supply chain to make good decisions. PVH needed a solution that would enable end-to-end global planning across multiple brands.
About The Customer
PVH Corp. is a U.S.-based apparel company and is one of the largest global apparel companies. The company generated $8.2 billion in revenues in 2016 from a diversified portfolio of brands, including CALVIN KLEIN, Tommy Hilfiger, Van Heusen, and IZOD. PVH is a vertically integrated company with a strong presence in wholesale, and many retail locations around the globe. The company has headquarters in New York, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Sao Paulo. PVH's vision is to enable end-to-end global planning across multiple brands, and they aim to ensure that whether the customer is shopping online, or in their stores, they are a happy customer.
The Solution
PVH implemented JDA's planning solutions, including JDA Demand Planning, JDA Enterprise Planning, JDA Assortment Planning, and JDA Channel Clustering. These solutions brought end-to-end visibility to PVH’s entire supply chain by aligning demand, fulfillment, and capacity planning, allowing everyone along the supply chain to make good decisions. The implementation of these solutions helped PVH to better optimize sales in retail locations, improve productivity of its retail associates, and increase sell-throughs at retail. On the wholesale side, having a long-range forecast available at multiple levels gave PVH the ability to be more responsive and flexible with its orders. JDA's solutions also supported common planning processes across all business areas, improved collaboration between merchants, planners and allocation teams, delivered a common tool set and an enhanced reporting system, while driving supply chain efficiencies, reducing labor, and ultimately leading the way for future system integrations.
Operational Impact
  • PVH has better inventory control.
  • The company reported greater collaboration across teams.
  • PVH achieved better compliance to plan.
Quantitative Benefit
  • PVH has moved the business forward significantly by introducing JDA tools.
  • The transition of their dress-shirt division to JDA Demand has resulted in users reporting that they are now making better decisions.
  • Users reported that the new tools provide better insights, allow them to make better and different decisions, and also make their job easier.
