High Valley Transit serves a suburban geography and caters to general transportation needs, as well as microtransit and paratransit services. The agency is committed to providing frequent and direct fixed-route service, while also incorporating on-demand zones to increase coverage and provide first- and last-mile connections.
The Solution
To address these challenges, Summit County created High Valley Transit and partnered with Via Strategies and Remix Software. Via Strategies helped the county to develop a multimodal transit development plan that would meet the needs of the growing community. Remix Software was leveraged to design a system that emphasized frequent and direct fixed-route service, while also incorporating on-demand zones to increase coverage. The process involved comprehensive analysis and frequent engagement with local stakeholders and community members to ensure that the new system would be well-received. The new transit system was launched in July 2021.
