The Challenge
HG Technology's client, a company in the construction industry, was struggling with an inefficient inspection process. The workers were still using paper reports during routine inspections, which often resulted in misplaced reports and lost work. The process of digitizing the data from these paper reports was time-consuming and often overlooked due to the workers' lack of time. This led to a clunky and ineffective inspection process that was costing the company both time and money.
About The Customer
HG Technology is a London-based consultancy that specializes in cloud-based solutions. As a Microsoft Silver Partner, it uses the full Microsoft 365 suite to help its clients’ digital transformation. The company creates tailored systems that enhance its clients’ business operations. These include inspection software, data and document management, and bespoke applications. One of the company’s clients is in the construction industry and was struggling with ineffective inspection processes.
The Solution
HG Technology recommended the use of resco.Inspections to digitize the client's inspection process. They customized the software to meet the client's needs, including improving the way equipment data was presented to client users and external auditors, improving team performance with department-relevant data, and implementing live notifications to help resolve issues faster. The software also allowed for inspections to be conducted offline, which meant that more inspections could be done in a shorter amount of time. The data from the inspections was then automatically saved and stored in SharePoint, ready to be shared with external auditors for review.
Operational Impact
  • The client was able to replace manual paper forms with a fully customized digital solution, making inspections much more efficient.
  • The client's workers can now conduct inspections from any mobile device, online or offline, which has streamlined the process and saved time and resources.
  • The client has seen a reduction in the time taken to complete an inspection, as inspectors no longer need to spend hours in the office typing up their findings.
Quantitative Benefit
  • The client has seen a reduction in the time taken to complete an inspection, leading to more inspections being done in a shorter amount of time.
  • The client has saved time and resources that were previously spent on digitizing paper forms and dealing with lost reports.
