The Challenge
In April 2012, Innisfree entered the Chinese market to capitalise on the growth potential by winning over prospective buyers. Before opening its first store in Shanghai and while planning for the launch of their Chinese website, Innisfree examined how it could best provide a seamless online shopping experience for customers. The objective of the Chinese website was to deliver the same customer experience as the Korean website. To achieve this, the brand had the following requirements: First, fast loading was essential because a slow loading time could result in a rapid increase in the bounce rate for visitors. Second, the brand needed a system environment capable of flexibly responding to high user traffic, for example, during a promotion on the website. The third requirement was for full technical support and website maintenance to be provided. It was essential that full technical support be made readily available for any request once the service was adopted.
About The Customer
Innisfree was launched in 2002 as the first naturalism cosmetics brand of AMOREPACIFIC, and has since grown to become the largest naturalism beauty brand in Korea. The brand marked over 100 billion won in sales in 2011 and, as of February 2014, it had 820 roadside shops across Korea. Riding on the wave of Korean popularity worldwide, and leveraging its brand equity, Innisfree has accelerated the expansion of its operations abroad. The brand is currently enjoying a global presence, operating in markets such as China, Hong Kong and Singapore, and running a total of 50 stores as well as an online shopping mall.
The Solution
Innisfree adopted CDNetworks’ “China Acceleration” service for its Chinese website ‘www.Innisfree.cn’. Testing showed that the web response time increased up to 3 times, resulting in a significant reduction in the load time. CDNetworks has abundant CDN infrastructure around multiple ISPs at home and abroad to ensure the fast and stable delivery of web services, even when traffic surges. There is no need to purchase, install or set up extra servers and systems, even in the case of a surprise traffic spike. CDNetworks guarantees service continuity via other ISPs when an error occurs, while minimising the delay between re-routing.
