To optimize efficiency, capacity, and costs at its manufacturing facilities, JFE Steel requires a highly accurate sales forecast and intelligent planning software that synchronizes its supply of products with that demand. However, the company was facing challenges due to the lack of a centralized system for sales data, resulting in a slow, labor-intensive process for collecting and updating demand data.
The Solution
JFE Steel partnered with Blue Yonder to implement production planning capabilities from Blue Yonder’s Luminate™ Planning platform. The platform provided a single view of demand across all of its customers and products, reducing the time taken to collect information from four days to instant access. The rolling sales plan was directly integrated with the company’s production plans and revenue plans, allowing adjustments to be made across all these plans as needed.
