The Challenge
Minger Construction, a Minnesota-based company, was seeking to improve its safety, quality, and efficiency. The company had been using B2W Estimate and added unified elements from the ONE Platform to manage field tracking and analysis as well as resource scheduling and dispatching. However, they needed a solution to collect safety information more effectively and efficiently in the field and to get it to the office faster. They also wanted to be able to generate reports easily without the tedious, manual effort and sorting through papers that was required in the past.
About The Customer
Minger Construction is a company based in Jordan, Minnesota. Founded by Patrick and Karen Minger in 1984, the company specializes in excavation and site work, site utilities, tunnels, and sewage lift stations and conveyance. Safety, quality, and efficiency have been three cornerstone principles of the company since its inception. Minger Construction had been using B2W Estimate and added unified elements from the ONE Platform to manage field tracking and analysis as well as resource scheduling and dispatching.
The Solution
Minger Construction turned to the B2W Inform electronic forms and data analysis solution. Initially, the solution was used to collect safety information more effectively and efficiently in the field and to get it to the office faster. Use cases for Inform now range from Daily Crew Safety Briefing (“toolbox talk”) and Report of Injury forms to Equipment Inspection, Daily Operations Journal, Utility Damage, and Risk & Safety Scorecard forms. The company also used the drag-and-drop template creator within B2W Inform to create customized electronic forms with fields designed to capture the specific information the company needs. The unified B2W platform in place prior to adding B2W Inform allowed Minger Construction to use its single B2W operational database and a function called data binding to create forms that are easier to fill out and that deliver accurate, structured data.
Operational Impact
  • Improved safety data collection in the field
  • Faster delivery of safety data to the office
  • Easier generation of reports
