Open Mobile, a mobile telecommunications service provider in Puerto Rico, was using an outdated UK-based system inherited from its predecessor company. The system was inconvenient, lacked essential features, and did not offer connectivity with Microsoft Office. About The Customer
Open Mobile is a mobile telecommunications service provider based in Puerto Rico. The company operates 18 stores across the country and has direct relationships with cell phone suppliers such as Samsung and Apple. Open Mobile serves tens of thousands of customers and works with hundreds of employees and a thousand vendors. The company was using an outdated UK-based system, which was inconvenient and lacked essential features. Open Mobile was seeking a solution that would improve their accounting processes, enhance financial reporting and analysis, and increase data integrity.
The Solution
Open Mobile considered several options, including Oracle eBusiness Suite and Microsoft Dynamics, before choosing Acumatica. Acumatica offered requisition management with approvals and budget control, as well as all required ERP workflows, at a fraction of the cost of other products. Open Mobile became an early adopter of Acumatica 4.0, with a SaaS license powered by Amazon Web Services. They purchased the Financial Management and Distribution suites, plus Fixed Assets, and also plan to get the Project Accounting Suite. The implementation of the new ERP system was completed in 90 days, including data migration.
