The Challenge
Prestige Care, a leader in senior living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation care, faced several challenges in its talent acquisition and recruiting function. The organization lacked a solution for email automation, which made it difficult to manage and track communication with potential hires. They had little insight into the effectiveness of their messaging, making it hard to optimize their outreach efforts. Prestige Care also struggled to keep track of passive talent that wasn't ready or interested yet but could consider a role with the organization in the future. This lack of a talent pipeline made it difficult to fill roles quickly when they became available. Furthermore, the organization relied heavily on agencies for leadership-level hires, which was a significant expense.
About The Customer
Prestige Care is a family-owned and operated organization founded in 1985. It is a leader in senior living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation care, with over 75 communities located throughout the Western United States. The organization's care philosophy is rooted in core values of integrity, respect, commitment, and trust. Prestige Care aims to be a 'partner in active aging' to residents and patients, helping them experience optimal levels of health and wellness in all aspects of their lives. The organization's services range from traditional skilled nursing to post-acute and assisted living care. Prestige Care employs over 5,000 people.
The Solution
Prestige Care implemented Gem, a solution that allowed recruiters to craft entire outreach campaigns, including set-and-forget follow-ups, which increased response rates. Gem also provided the team with the ability to track open/click/response rates and see engagement with message content, enabling them to adjust outreach based on recipient behavior. The solution also allowed recruiters to move passive candidates into a project in Gem, creating a database of professionals they had already vetted. This significantly cut down time-to-hire when new roles opened. In their first year using Gem, Prestige Care hired eight director-level roles, saving over $125k that would have been spent on agency fees. The implementation of Gem resulted in a more than 1000% ROI for Prestige Care.

Hospital Inventory Management
The hospital supply chain team is responsible for ensuring that the right medical supplies are readily available to clinicians when and where needed, and to do so in the most efficient manner possible. However, many of the systems and processes in use at the cancer center for supply chain management were not best suited to support these goals. Barcoding technology, a commonly used method for inventory management of medical supplies, is labor intensive, time consuming, does not provide real-time visibility into inventory levels and can be prone to error. Consequently, the lack of accurate and real-time visibility into inventory levels across multiple supply rooms in multiple hospital facilities creates additional inefficiency in the system causing over-ordering, hoarding, and wasted supplies. Other sources of waste and cost were also identified as candidates for improvement. Existing systems and processes did not provide adequate security for high-cost inventory within the hospital, which was another driver of cost. A lack of visibility into expiration dates for supplies resulted in supplies being wasted due to past expiry dates. Storage of supplies was also a key consideration given the location of the cancer center’s facilities in a dense urban setting, where space is always at a premium. In order to address the challenges outlined above, the hospital sought a solution that would provide real-time inventory information with high levels of accuracy, reduce the level of manual effort required and enable data driven decision making to ensure that the right supplies were readily available to clinicians in the right location at the right time.

Intelligent Building Automation System and Energy Saving Solution
One of the most difficult problems facing the world is conserving energy in buildings. However, it is not easy to have a cost-effective solution to reduce energy usage in a building. One solution for saving energy is to implement an intelligent building automation system (BAS) which can be controlled according to its schedule. In Indonesia a large university with a five floor building and 22 classrooms wanted to save the amount of energy being used.
