The Challenge
The Réunion Southern Regional Hospital was facing challenges in accessing data from numerous sources and systems. They were using simple single-database query tools which were insufficient to allow users to efficiently access all data. The hospital needed a solution that could integrate data from various different sources and systems, and provide instant access to greater amounts of information in the form of visually rich interactive dashboards, and reports. They also needed a solution that could deliver greater independence and self-sufficiency for users.
About The Customer
The Réunion Southern Regional Hospital is a regional hospital set up in 2007 in France. It was formed by the merger of the Félix Guyon Hospital in Saint-Denis and the Réunion Southern Regional Hospital in Saint-Pierre. The hospital is still in the development phase, with a number of joint projects involving considerable change already completed, particularly within the Medical Information Department (MID). The MID at the Réunion Southern Regional Hospital is responsible for monitoring the hospital’s activity, which directly influences the financing required to ensure its smooth running.
The Solution
The Réunion Southern Regional Hospital deployed QlikView for about 15 users. With QlikView, they now have access to integrated data from several different systems, which they can analyse in visually rich interactive dashboards and reports. The Réunion Regional Hospital is now developing around 10 varied applications customised for different areas of the organisation. The hospital chose QlikView on the advice of QlikView partner Maya. They developed a significant pilot project by downloading a free version of the software. The QlikView application soon became indispensable as it allowed them to carry out analysis that they had not previously been able to perform.
Operational Impact
  • Simple, intuitive browsing
  • Processing capacity for a large volume of data
  • Visually rich, flexible reports and dashboards
Quantitative Benefit
  • The first application took only a few days— the next ones were deployed on average in two months.
  • Considerable financial benefits linked to payment tracking
