The Challenge
ROB, a flyer program for green transportation in France, was founded by two engineers, David and Thibaut. They had a vision to encourage green transportation by rewarding users for every kilometer traveled using eco-friendly modes of transport. However, they faced the challenge of building an app that could seamlessly integrate with various mobility services, track users' travels, and reward them accordingly. They also needed to ensure that the app could securely connect with users' credit cards for reward redemption. The challenge was not just to build the app, but to do it quickly and efficiently to test the product and launch it in the market.
About The Customer
ROB is designed for users who frequently use green transportation for their commute. It caters to individuals who bike, use Lime scooters, or simply prefer to walk around town. The app rewards users for every kilometer traveled using eco-friendly modes of transport, encouraging them to continue using green transportation. Users can redeem their rewards for discounts on future trips, sustainable gift cards, or donate to associations fighting against global warming. The app also allows users to discover new and green ways to move around and outside their city.
The Solution
David and Thibaut chose Bubble, a no-code platform, to build their app. Bubble's powerful tools enabled them to create a fully customizable web application that could integrate with various mobility services and banking systems. Users could connect their credit cards to the app, earn rewards for every travel made using green transportation, and redeem those rewards for discounts on future trips or sustainable gift cards. The app also allowed users to donate their rewards to associations fighting against global warming. The no-code platform allowed the co-founders to test their product faster and launch it on May 31st, 2021. They also implemented a banking aggregator on Bubble, a technology certified by BANQUE DE FRANCE (French Banking authorities).
Operational Impact
  • The use of Bubble's no-code platform allowed ROB to quickly and efficiently build and test their app. The platform's powerful tools enabled them to create a fully customizable web application that could integrate with various mobility services and banking systems. This resulted in a seamless user experience, with users able to earn and redeem rewards easily. The app's success led to partnerships with major mobility services and automotive manufacturers, and recognition on national television. The co-founders' innovative use of technology to promote green transportation has set a precedent for other startups in the field.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Established a strong partnership with SKODA, an automotive manufacturer, a few months after starting coding on Bubble.
  • Implemented a banking aggregator on Bubble, a technology certified by BANQUE DE FRANCE (French Banking authorities).
  • Gathered more than 20 mobility partners, including Uber, Lime, SNCF, Blablacar, and more.
