The Challenge
LUMA Foundation, a Swiss organization that focuses on the intersection of art, culture, human rights, environment, education, and research, faced a significant challenge. The foundation needed to protect its workstations and digital assets while maintaining free and secure access for clients and visitors. This was particularly important as the foundation hosts various exhibitions and events, attracting hundreds of visitors. The challenge was to deliver a scalable solution that could meet the varying needs of the art world, balancing security with accessibility. The foundation needed to safeguard personal data and the digital works it hosts, ensuring that these works of art could not be damaged or tampered with.
About The Customer

The Solution
To address these challenges, LUMA Foundation chose Check Point Quantum Maestro, a hyperscalable security solution. The foundation selected Maestro for its scalability, high-quality Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) analytics, resiliency, processing capabilities, and sandboxing abilities. Check Point Maestro was integrated into the architecture design, serving as a central point through which all data center traffic has to pass before reaching users. It also filters external traffic before it reaches both users and the data center. With Maestro, LUMA can scale on demand, easily add existing and new gateways on demand, and dynamically allocate compute resources to Security Groups. The solution is fully operational within minutes, and when a gateway is added to the system, it gets all the configurations, the policy, and the software version, updated and aligned with the existing deployment.
Operational Impact
  • The implementation of Check Point Maestro has brought significant operational benefits to the LUMA Foundation. The solution's flexibility and adaptability have proven crucial in meeting the needs of the artistic community. With Maestro, LUMA can now provide the last-minute security needs of the artists it works with. It can also cater to the needs of hundreds of people who visit its hospitality and catering area. The solution's scalability allows LUMA to respond quickly to changing demands, ensuring that the foundation can continue to provide a secure, accessible environment for artists and visitors alike. Moving forward, LUMA plans to open a new building with a second 10Gb internet connection, which will also be protected using the Check Point Maestro solution.
