The Challenge
The Fresenius Group faced the challenge of integrating an increasing number of affiliates into its corporate structure. This required establishing standard payment processes and consolidating bank accounts to optimize payment processes. Additionally, there was a need to simplify the Group-wide IT infrastructure and improve administration options from a central office.
About The Customer
Fresenius is a global medical care group that provides products and services for dialysis, hospital, and outpatient care of patients. With over 270,000 employees in more than 100 countries and an annual turnover of over 30 billion euros, Fresenius is one of the world’s leading companies in the medical care sector. The company operates through four independent business units: Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Helios, Fresenius Kabi, and Fresenius Vamed, all of which are market leaders in their respective growth areas of the medical care sector.
The Solution
The Fresenius Group implemented the TIS Enterprise Payment Optimization Platform to manage payments through a central payment factory. This platform integrates seamlessly with SAP, allowing payment files in SAP’s IDoc format to be transferred securely through SAP PI to the TIS Bank Transaction Manager. This setup facilitates overall format conversion and communication with financial institutions. The cloud-based nature of the TIS platform eliminates IT installation costs and allows for the inclusion of external payment providers through file upload functionality. Additionally, TIS is used for intra-group payments, organizing approval processes and reporting back to SAP for further processing with In-House Cash.
Operational Impact
  • Lower maintenance costs for bank accounts.
  • Reduction in bank-related transaction costs.
  • Harmonization of group-wide IT solutions.
