The Challenge
Texas Nissan of Grapevine faced several challenges that led them to invest in Kahu. They had difficulty managing and locating their inventory, which consisted of more than 500 vehicles. This led to long delays in retrieving vehicles for test drives. Additionally, they often found dead batteries on test drive vehicles, which further delayed the process. The dealership was also dealing with thin margins on vehicle sales, which put pressure on their profitability.
About The Customer
Texas Nissan of Grapevine is a car dealership located in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. They have a large inventory of more than 500 vehicles and are dedicated to serving their local community. The dealership prides itself on providing excellent customer service that goes above and beyond the call of duty. The case study is presented from the perspective of Richard Curry, the inventory manager at Texas Nissan of Grapevine.
The Solution
To address their challenges, Texas Nissan of Grapevine invested in Kahu, a vehicle inventory management solution. Kahu provided features that allowed the dealership to increase their F&I profit, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance vehicle security with stolen vehicle recovery. It also helped them manage their loaner vehicles more effectively. The dealership used Kahu's lot management features to execute inventory audits faster, gain greater insight into test drives, manage loaners more effectively, and send more timely, effective marketing promotions.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
