Unique Tool and Manufacturing is a job shop based in North Carolina. The company had been running its business using a series of notebooks and spreadsheets, with all of its important documents spread across various filing cabinets and stored on different computers. This method of operation was proving to be inefficient and complicated, leading to the realization that they needed a more streamlined system. The company also had a custom estimate system for every customer, which led to inconsistent pricing.
The Solution
Unique Tool decided to implement an ERP system to streamline their operations. After considering various solutions, they chose the E2 ERP system due to its flexibility. The E2 system's Estimating and Scheduling tools proved to be the most useful for Unique Tool. The Estimating tool allowed them to quickly generate consistent estimates based on correct costs, eliminating the issue of inconsistent pricing. The Scheduling tool helped them push jobs through the shop faster than before. Additionally, E2's quality module and documentation system were identified as potentially beneficial for their certification initiative.
