The Challenge
Xtrac, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance transmissions for top motorsport teams, was facing a challenge with its initial Sage BusinessWorks accounting system. The company had expanded its business lines, adding NHRA, GrandAm, Motocross, and other lines, which led to the outgrowing of its initial accounting system within just one year. The company needed a more robust system to manage its financials, including customer orders, invoicing, parts ordering, tracking and reporting back orders, inventory control, paying vendors, cutting checks, and accounts receivable and collections.
About The Customer
Xtrac, Inc. is a leading provider of high-performance transmissions used by virtually all of the world's top motorsport teams, including Formula One, World Rally, CART, and the Indy Racing League. The company operates a 6,500 square-foot engineering office and distribution facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. Components are manufactured direct from CAD data at the parent company in Thatcham, England, to meet deadlines that would have been impossible just a few years ago. This allows Xtrac, Inc., to deliver parts on time to customers throughout the world. The company opened its doors in late 2002 with the main focus to supply the Indy Racing League. However, it quickly expanded its business lines, adding NHRA, GrandAm, Motocross, and other lines.
The Solution
To address its growing needs, Xtrac, Inc., migrated to Sage 100 ERP, a complete suite of financial and distribution modules that provides end-to-end business management. The Sage 100 ERP system manages all of Xtrac, Inc.'s financials, including customer orders, invoicing, parts ordering, tracking and reporting back orders, inventory control, paying vendors, cutting checks, and accounts receivable and collections. The system's Inventory Management module provides real-time reporting, eliminating the need for a physical inventory check every time a customer order comes in. This has been a significant help in determining which items are needed on an urgent basis for smoother distribution and better customer service. One of the most useful features in Sage 100 ERP has been Sage 100 ERP Visual Integrator, a module designed to facilitate seamless integration between Sage 100 ERP and other business applications.
