Graphical User Interface (GUI)

A user interface that allows users to interact with a device through graphics, icons and visual elements.

Instead of typing text into a console to tell a computer or cell phone what to do, an icon representing a command - like a stylised folder indicating a grouped collection of files - is pointed at with a mouse courser, or simply one's finger.
