The Challenge
The pharmaceutical company was facing challenges due to its expansion and workforce transition which led to hundreds of remote sites with limited IT visibility. The company was undergoing digital transformations amid a global hybrid workforce transition which was challenging daily IT operations and strategic project advancements. The Network Operations (NetOps) team was leading efforts to diversify and expand business technology platforms to keep pace with organizational growth. As a result, strategic planning had been commenced for Cloud-based services, Equinix Colocated Data Centers (Co-lo’s), VMware virtualization, Software as a Service (SaaS), and Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) projects in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.
About The Customer
The customer is a leading pharmaceutical company that has seen year-over-year business expansion linked to revenue growth, continued Research & Development (R&D) innovations, and well-executed merger and acquisition strategies. The company has realized these financial successes across a challenging COVID-19 business era for global pharma, with their R&D, Contact Center, Business, Manufacturing, and Sales Operations all impacted by the organization’s hybrid workforce transition. Even before the pandemic’s arrival, the Network Operations (NetOps) team was leading efforts to diversify and expand business technology platforms to keep pace with organizational growth.
The Solution
The NetOps team addressed their collective near-term IT requirements and strategic project goals with a NETSCOUT Smart Edge Monitoring deployment that improved visibility into client edges, network edge environments, cloud service edges, and data center edges. The contracted NETSCOUT Premium Service Engineer (PSE) collaborated with the NetOps team and other IT resources to maximize the value delivered by the Smart Edge Monitoring investment by assisting in defining a visibility expansion strategy that factored closing blind spots into all service edges, including client (e.g., remote and WFH offices), cloud, network, and data center.
Operational Impact
  • Improved IT performance and end-user experience, regardless of service edge, application, or work location.
  • Cost-effective, end-through-end visibility without borders.
  • Improved collaboration, reduced functionality silos, and quicker time-to-value from their NETSCOUT investment.
