Jiamini, a non-profit organization based in Tanzania, was facing challenges in managing their donor information. The organization, which supports at-risk children by providing education and infrastructure like water pumps, solar panels, and latrines, was initially relying on manual methods to manage their donor data. They used online spreadsheets to keep track of the donations they received. However, this method was not efficient and was prone to errors. The organization needed a solution that could automate the process of collecting and managing donor information. They also needed a way to keep their team informed about their donors and to make the donor information actionable.
Jiamini is a non-profit organization based in Tanzania that was founded by four friends who met students on the verge of expulsion due to their inability to afford education fees. The organization has grown from helping a handful of students to supporting dozens of at-risk children. They provide education and build infrastructure like water pumps, solar panels, and latrines to help the community break free from poverty. Jiamini offers its donors the choice to sponsor a student, donate directly to a program, or make a general donation. The organization is run by volunteers and relies on donations to carry out its work.
Jiamini found a solution in Zapier, an app automation tool. Using Zapier, they were able to create a workflow that automatically creates contacts in Salesforce from new donations received in WooCommerce and PayPal. Every time a donation is made, a new contact is created in Salesforce and a new opportunity is also created. This allows Jiamini to track each donation. The data is moved between PayPal, WooCommerce, and Salesforce, keeping the team informed about their donors. Furthermore, Jiamini uses Zapier to add their new Salesforce contacts to a MailChimp list. This allows them to send updates to their donors about the students they are supporting and the infrastructure that has been built with their donations.
