TravelPerk, a business travel software company, was facing the challenge of scaling their operations while keeping their team small and costs low. The company was growing, which meant that they needed to make hiring decisions, sometimes for roles not essential to their core product, but necessary for running a business. This would mean dedicating large chunks of money away from essential practices. The company also needed to integrate a plethora of tools and systems to run their operations lean and efficiently without getting lost in code. They wanted to keep their coding to a minimum and free their marketers to craft the tools they needed.
TravelPerk is a business travel software company founded in 2015. The company aims to simplify travel for companies, saving them money, time, and stress. They believe that most business travel companies operate with outdated technology and poor support, and they aim to bring business travel into this century with their focus on stellar customer support and easy-to-use tools. They utilize automated workflows to make their processes as efficient as their product.
To address these challenges, TravelPerk decided to automate as many of their processes as they could. Instead of hiring engineers to build custom software or connections between apps, they used app automator Zapier. This allowed them to connect their apps at a fraction of the cost of an employee. Gidi Pridor, VP of marketing and growth at TravelPerk, transformed his marketing team into de facto-developers. By constructing Zaps, Zapier's term for automated workflows, TravelPerk's marketers were able to connect apps on their own, without relying on developer resources. With a few clicks, they automated their work and connected apps that otherwise couldn't.
