Bosch Rexroth, a Fortune 100 company and one of the world’s largest suppliers of technology and services, has been committed to sustainability and green engineering practices for nearly half a century. The company recognizes the potential of green engineering to reduce costs, improve product performance, enhance corporate reputation, and open up new market opportunities. However, to truly be considered 'green', engineers must consider factors such as product life cycle, reusability, and the elimination of toxic chemicals. Bosch Rexroth’s engineering division faced the challenge of designing its latest Rexroth Frequency Converter Fe series to be more economical and environmentally friendly. The goal was to reduce parts, size, and power consumption, while improving reliability and stability.
Bosch Rexroth is a Fortune 100 company and one of the world’s largest suppliers of technology and services. With a history spanning nearly half a century, the company has been developing corporate policies and engineering practices that protect people and the environment, emphasizing the importance of sustainability. Bosch Rexroth's engineering division is responsible for designing and developing products that align with the company's commitment to green engineering and sustainability. The division recently undertook the task of designing the latest Rexroth Frequency Converter Fe series to be more economical and environmentally friendly.
Bosch Rexroth turned to Altium Designer to help achieve its green engineering objectives. Altium Designer's user-friendly interface and improved features for board design offered immediate benefits. Its intelligent pin and part swapping capabilities simplified board layout, reducing the number of layers used and overall board size. This resulted in a leaner, greener board design that required fewer materials. Furthermore, Altium Designer’s integrated database libraries allowed Bosch Rexroth to link into its various ERP systems. This integration enabled the company to easily oversee suppliers, factory, reseller, and customer information, monitor resources, and manage waste with greater efficiency.
