The Challenge
DotDune, an eCommerce platform in Namibia, was faced with the challenge of establishing an online marketplace in a developing country with a small population of approximately 2.5 million people. The lack of interest from international online retailers to unlock the Namibian online shopping opportunity led DotDune to develop an in-house eCommerce multi-vendor business. However, the geographical size of Namibia and its low population density posed a significant challenge for cost-effective parcel delivery. Additionally, the need for substantial customization due to Namibia's unique market conditions added to the complexity of the project. The team was also tasked with the challenge of setting targets and crafting a 5-year strategy to become Namibia’s leading eCommerce marketplace by 2025.
About The Customer
DotDune is an eCommerce platform based in Namibia, a developing country with a small population of approximately 2.5 million people. The company was born out of the lack of interest from international online retailers in the Namibian online shopping opportunity. DotDune's vision is to provide Namibian buyers, sellers, and vendors with an opportunity to conduct business online and to become Namibia’s leading eCommerce platform. The company has set a 5-year strategy to achieve this goal by 2025. DotDune is also looking into improving logistics and offering warehousing services to their vendors.
The Solution
DotDune found the solution to their challenges in Yo!Kart, a white-label eCommerce platform. After extensive research, Yo!Kart was identified as the most suitable tool for their needs. The platform allowed DotDune to provide Namibian buyers, sellers, and vendors with an opportunity to conduct business online. The team celebrated their first sale, which was a small item, as a significant milestone in their journey. To overcome the challenge of cost-effective parcel delivery, DotDune is looking into improving logistics by completing deliveries with electric vehicles. They are also planning to adapt their system to stock and inventory management and offer warehousing services to their vendors. For the customization needs, DotDune relied on FATbit, the team behind Yo!Kart, who were always ready to accommodate their requests and help them figure out solutions.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
