The Challenge
CVC Technologies, a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging machines, was seeking an end-to-end IoT solution to fully digitize their pharmaceutical liquid filling and capping machines. The company aimed to enhance the safety of their equipment, introduce digital maintenance capabilities, and gain visibility into machine status from anywhere at any time. The challenge was to find a solution that could provide real-time visibility into the machine's status, deliver direct cloud connectivity and digital services, and simplify all aspects of the machine's lifecycle, from engineering to maintenance.

About The Customer
CVC Technologies is a leading builder of pharmaceutical packaging machines. The company is committed to innovation and efficiency in its operations, and as such, sought to digitize its liquid filling and capping machines. The goal was to improve process safety, production accuracy, and overall efficiency. By adopting an end-to-end IoT solution, CVC Technologies aimed to enhance the safety of their equipment, introduce digital maintenance capabilities, and gain visibility into machine status from anywhere at any time. The company's commitment to leveraging digital technology for improved operational efficiency is evident in its choice of the EcoStruxure Machine solution.
The Solution
CVC Technologies opted for an EcoStruxure Machine solution, which included a range of digital services. The EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor was used to provide real-time visibility into a machine’s status. This allowed for immediate response to any issues, enhancing the overall efficiency of the operation. The Modicon M262 logic and motion controllers were implemented to deliver direct cloud connectivity and digital services. This enabled remote monitoring and control of the machines, further improving operational efficiency. Lastly, Lexium 32 servo drives were used to simplify all aspects of the machine’s lifecycle, from engineering to maintenance. This resulted in faster commissioning and more efficient maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
