Mode Analytics, a company providing collaborative analytics to customers like Lyft, Trello, and Shopify, was facing a challenge with time-consuming manual tasks. The Senior Demand Generation Manager, Alexa Guerra, identified that tasks such as exporting leads and uploading them to marketing automation software Marketo were prone to human error and negatively impacted workflow. Additionally, Mode had to manually notify each company about the status of their job listing on their jobs board for analysts, data scientists, and data engineers. They also collected leads from G2 Crowd, a business and software review site, which required additional manual work. Furthermore, Mode wanted to improve transparency and visibility of go-to-market processes across the company, but found it difficult to communicate wins effectively.
Mode Analytics is a company that provides collaborative analytics to its customers, which include high-profile companies like Lyft, Trello, and Shopify. They have a jobs board for analysts, data scientists, and data engineers, where companies can submit job listings. Mode also collects leads from G2 Crowd, a business and software review site. The company is committed to improving its workflows and processes, and places a high value on transparency and visibility across the company. They are growing quickly and their team members often wear many different hats, making it important for them to avoid bottlenecks and individual ownership of tasks.
Mode Analytics turned to Zapier, an app automation tool, to automate their time-consuming tasks and build efficient workflows. They used Zapier for Teams and its Shared Folders to create leads and send team updates. To automate the job board process, a company would fill out a Google Form to submit a job, which would notify the team in Slack. Once approved, the job would be added to Contentful, a content management software. Zapier would then sync the submitter's email address in Marketo, which would automatically send an email when the job posting was live. This eliminated the need for Mode to manually update each submitter. Mode also used Zapier to automate the collection of leads from G2 Crowd. To improve company-wide communication, Zapier was used to send new Salesforce leads and new Recurly transactions to a specific Slack channel, allowing the whole company to celebrate wins instantly.
