Chatter, or unwanted vibrations during CNC machining, can cause noise, heat, and damage to both the workpiece and cutting tools. It is crucial to detect and mitigate chatter to ensure high-quality production and prolong the lifespan of the equipment.
MEXT
MEXT, established by the Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries in 2020, is the world’s most comprehensive digital and green transformation and capability-building center. Nestled within its cutting-edge 10,000-square-meter facility, MEXT is equipped with a state-of-the-art digital factory, training facilities, office spaces, a vibrant co-working area, and a dynamic conference center.
TEKNOPAR tackled this issue by installing accelerometers and microphone sensors on the CNC machines. The system remotely and automatically adjusted the spindle speed based on real-time data from these sensors, eliminating chatter. This solution, developed in collaboration with MEXT and AMRC, leveraged TEKNOPAR's extensive experience in automation systems.
