The Challenge
Ken and Kyla Ettinger, co-founders of SpeakEasy, identified a gap in the market for a tool that could help parents boost the speech and language development of their children from birth to five years old. They wanted to empower parents with evidence-based activities and effective teaching techniques, all written by a speech therapist. The challenge was to create an app that could be customized to the language stage of each child, and be useful for parents of children with or without speech delay. As non-technical founders, they needed a platform that would allow them to bring their vision to life without the need for a technical team of engineers.
About The Customer
SpeakEasy is designed for parents who want to boost the speech and language development of their children, from birth to five years old. The app is also useful for parents of children with or without speech delay. The app is built to empower parents with evidence-based activities and effective teaching techniques, all written by a speech therapist. The SpeakEasy Language Journey is customized to the language stage of each child. The app is also beneficial for speech therapists, with a version of the app built specifically for them.
The Solution
The Ettingers chose to build their app on Bubble, a no-code web app building platform. This allowed them to create an app without coding, and to continue to rapidly experiment and improve their app in a way that would be impossible if they relied on a technical team of engineers. The SpeakEasy app works by having new users answer a few questions to place their child in a language developmental level. They then create an account and are offered a free trial to the subscription service, SpeakEasy Unlimited. The app includes tutorials that guide users to actions such as watching language technique videos, viewing at-home activity ideas, reading interactive articles about speech and language development, and tracking their child's language skills and development.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
