As a company entrusted with a vast amount of sensitive data, understanding their exposure in terms of vulnerabilities, potential threats, and threat actors was of paramount importance. The company needed a solution that would not only help them understand their exposure but also provide a robust system for event correlation, detection, alerting, and investigation of potential incidents. The challenge was to find a comprehensive solution that could offer deep insights into vulnerabilities, help inform remediation plans, and provide a robust communication strategy for vulnerability management.
About The Customer
Visier is a technology company that provides SaaS-based workforce intelligence solutions. The company develops an analytics platform and builds applications on top of it, primarily in the business intelligence space. These applications help solve workforce planning and analysis needs. Visier also has a recently announced talent acquisition product. The company is entrusted with sensitive data and takes its protection extremely seriously. Visier's primary challenge is to understand its exposure in terms of vulnerabilities, the activity and environment, potential threats, and threat actors that may be interested in that customer data.
The Solution
Visier adopted the Rapid7 portfolio to address their security challenges. The portfolio included InsightIDR, which provided a fantastic event correlation, detection, and alerting engine, and also offered a key view into the investigation of any potential incidents. InsightVM, another tool from the Rapid7 portfolio, was used as a scan engine for their vulnerability management program. It was used in both office and data center environments to scan all of the hosts, providing deep insight into the vulnerabilities that may be exposed, and helping to inform remediation plans. AppSpider, another tool from Rapid7, offered great depth in terms of assessing applications. The integration of InsightIDR and InsightVM allowed Visier to correlate vulnerability data with various sources of event data, thus providing a comprehensive view of potential threats and vulnerabilities.

The implementation of ERP software in a Discrete Manufacturing organization needs to be strategic, irrespective of its size and capacity. The client had already implemented an ERP system which fulfilled their requirements but was not efficient enough. Efficiency here meant Synchronized Planning, Updating and Multisite Planning. Planning at client’s place was done outside the ERP system. Lack of proper synchronization to the ERP system paved way to huge delays in the changes getting updated in the system. These delays caused disruption in achieving delivery schedules. Multisite Planning is a solution to an organization which has multiple production units (may or may not be geographically separated) and thus needs planning across these units to synchronize production activities within them. The client also has multiple factories and hence Production Planning control is very essential in their case. Since Multisite planning was not possible with Baan ERP system, this was another bottleneck for the client.
