The Challenge
FTA’s member companies needed reliable data on producers to avoid human rights abuses and unsanitary conditions. The manual system for auditing and reporting data was inefficient, making it difficult to provide timely and accurate reports. Members had no way to independently access data, requiring internal resources to manually extract information from various sources. This lack of visibility and efficiency was a significant challenge for FTA.
About The Customer
FTA is a European non-profit organization with 2,000 member companies and over 40,000 producers globally. The organization provides its members with critical information on supply chain reliability, business practices, socio-environmental sustainability, and performance. FTA's mission includes ensuring that its members do not engage with producers involved in human rights abuses, child labor, or unsanitary factory conditions. The organization collects and audits vast amounts of data to help its members make informed decisions. FTA's members include high producers of services from countries like India and China, and they rely on FTA for accurate and timely data to maintain ethical and sustainable business practices.
The Solution
Anis Radianis, the BI Manager at FTA, implemented Sisense to provide fast and accurate reports with less manual work. Sisense's free POC impressed Anis with its ease of use, attractive interface, and robust security features. The solution allowed FTA to embed analytics, giving members the visibility they needed. Anis built an environment where users could log into the same system but only see their own data by partitioning the data within the same ElastiCube. This setup was a significant time saver and met the security requirements of FTA's members. The new system was introduced to 200 members at a seminar, where it received positive feedback for its ability to provide detailed, on-demand information about supply chains and producer demographics.
Operational Impact
  • The new system provided a significant competitive advantage for FTA, as no other organization in their sector offered the same level of detail with direct member access.
  • Members could now easily see their geographic disbursement of producers and national density, enhancing their decision-making process.
  • The system saved a considerable amount of time for internal resources, who no longer needed to manually extract data from various sources.
Quantitative Benefit
  • FTA saved over one-million Euro per year in expenses due to the new system.
