Fluidra, a global leader in pool and wellness equipment, faced significant challenges in managing their new product development process. Despite having a project management tool, it lacked the flexibility and visibility required for efficient operations. One of the main issues was the inability of the tool to allow different teams to run parallel processes simultaneously. This limitation meant that one department could only commence a step after another had finished, leading to an extended new product development cycle. Additionally, the previous solution was inflexible and high-code, necessitating the involvement of the IT team whenever any changes were required by the Fluidra teams.
Fluidra is a globally recognized leader in the pool and wellness equipment industry. With a mission to create the perfect pool and wellness experience, Fluidra offers a wide range of products, devices, components, and services. The company operates in over 45 countries, has around 35 factories, and employs more than 6,000 people. Fluidra's portfolio spans 15 globally recognized brands, and they have over 50 years of experience in the pool sector. The company's departments using Pipefy include Supply Chain, Data, Purchasing, Engineering, and Marketing.
In February 2021, Fluidra's Supply Chain Manager, Dan Tipton, chose Pipefy to centralize their new product development processes. The goal was to enhance efficiency and gain autonomy over the platform, eliminating the need for constant IT team involvement for simple changes. After training sessions with Pipefy’s implementation team, Dan and the Supply Chain team were able to standardize flows and connect the four departments — Logistics, Engineering, Purchasing, and Marketing — with basic automation triggers. For instance, when the Engineering department develops a new product, the Marketing and Purchasing teams can automatically start planning the product launch and purchasing the goods to start production. Following the success of this primary process, Fluidra began to run more request flows with Pipefy, such as air freight approvals and helpdesk ticketing.
