The Challenge
The Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) team at a mid-sized healthcare delivery organization was struggling with their existing computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) which had limited functionality. They were forced to track device maintenance records across multiple spreadsheets, making the management of thousands of pieces of equipment challenging. The lack of a unified maintenance record system led to missed scheduled maintenance on several critical devices, resulting in the hospital being cited and the HTM department facing increased scrutiny. The team also faced difficulties in reporting the status and history of work orders, repairs, and recalls to leadership. Additionally, there was no record of maintenance work performed by device manufacturers’ field technicians, further complicating the situation.
About The Customer
The customer is a mid-sized healthcare delivery organization. Their Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) team is responsible for ensuring that their medical equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations. The team maintains thousands of pieces of equipment and was previously using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with limited functionality, supplemented by multiple spreadsheets. The lack of a unified maintenance record system led to challenges in managing their medical equipment, reporting to leadership, and tracking maintenance work performed by outside contractors and technicians.
The Solution
The HTM team identified the need for a modern, cloud-based CMMS that was accessible from any device, user-friendly, easy to implement, and economical for small and medium-sized hospitals. The solution needed to consolidate all data onto one platform, automate manual data entry and workflow processes, and provide real-time dashboards and reports on equipment performance, PM compliance, labor cost, vendor repairs, and parts replacements. Nuvolo Connected Workplace emerged as the ideal solution, offering a single cloud-based platform that connected all equipment data, work orders, and automated workflows. The healthcare organization was able to implement the Nuvolo Connected Workplace for SMB solution within a five-week timeframe, with minimal disruption to their day-to-day operations and minimal involvement from the IT team.

Predictive Maintenance for Industrial Chillers
For global leaders in the industrial chiller manufacturing, reliability of the entire production process is of the utmost importance. Chillers are refrigeration systems that produce ice water to provide cooling for a process or industrial application. One of those leaders sought a way to respond to asset performance issues, even before they occur. The intelligence to guarantee maximum reliability of cooling devices is embedded (pre-alarming). A pre-alarming phase means that the cooling device still works, but symptoms may appear, telling manufacturers that a failure is likely to occur in the near future. Chillers who are not internet connected at that moment, provide little insight in this pre-alarming phase.
