The Challenge
ISS Consulting, an SAP solution consulting partner, was facing challenges in demonstrating SAP software to potential clients due to the cost and complexity of creating specific SAP demonstration instances on the on-premise data center. This resulted in the company not being able to reliably produce more than a few high-quality sales presentations per month. The data center servers used to run the SAP demonstration instances also ran general business applications, which affected the performance of the SAP solution. The local IT team tasked with creating the new demo environments were often busy with other tasks, further complicating the situation.

The company is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has offices in Singapore and Thailand. ISS Consulting serves a wide range of clients and industries, including manufacturing, non-governmental bodies, and professional companies. The client sites range from as few as ten users up to one thousand or higher. The company's sales team uses on-location presentations of SAP software to potential clients as a key part of demonstrating the advantages of SAP solutions. To do so, ISS Consulting created demonstration instances of SAP ERP software, running on its own data center in Malaysia.
The Solution

This service enables ISS Consulting to create, configure, and deploy new SAP instances that can be tailored to mimic each customer situation as accurately as possible. Reliable data connections improve upload times and provide a consistent user experience during demonstrations. Each SAP demo environment can be sized to match the potential customer’s situation, and there are no issues around application workload or availability of IT staff. The cloud-based solution from SoftLayer allows ISS Consulting to create new SAP demo environments very quickly, with high-capacity connections that provide reliable data upload processes.
