The Challenge
MarktSelect, a leading database-marketing specialist in the Dutch business-to-business market, was facing several challenges. They needed to provide their customers with 'readable' up-to-date management information. They also needed to measure the results and enhance the effectiveness of their marketing and sales efforts. Another challenge was to make links between data from very diverse databases. During a visit to a large Direct Marketing exhibition in San Francisco, they noticed that needs were changing worldwide. Analysis and segmentation were becoming hot topics. They needed a flexible Business Intelligence (BI) analysis tool that would enable their customers to raise the effectiveness of their marketing and sales departments.

MarktSelect B.V. is an operating company of Graydon Holding N.V. It is a leading specialist in database-marketing in the Dutch business-to-business market. MarktSelect provides its customers with a balanced mix of expertise, tools, and support, enabling them to approach their target groups more effectively at lower costs and generate higher revenues. The company offers database services, call center activities, and analyses. MarktSelect's goal is to provide customers with 'readable' up-to-date management information, measure the results and enhance the effectiveness of marketing and sales efforts, and make links between data from very diverse databases.
The Solution
MarktSelect decided to implement QlikView, an analysis software from QlikTech. The application was up and running within three weeks. The most important aspect of the implementation was the visualization of information. QlikView stood out from the rest because it can make connections, unlike any other, between data from very diverse databases – from MarktSelect's own market-wide business database to the databases of their customers. QlikView does more than just generate clear information; it also switches seamlessly between the different databases that are in use. It’s easy to determine penetration levels and combine them with sales data and profit figures. QlikView constantly stimulates the development of new analyses, enabling the customer to make even better and faster decisions.
