Navneet Education Limited, the publishing arm of Navneet Group, aimed to expand its operations across its domestic market in India. The manufacturing, sales, and accounting functions of the publishing business operated independently of one another, making the process of gathering data for group financial reporting complex and time-consuming. This process involved collating information from across the business held in multiple different spreadsheets and emails.

The company produces a range of educational products that are a leading choice among students and teachers in India. Navneet Group employs more than 2,600 people and generates annual revenues equivalent to approximately USD83 million. The group aimed to expand Navneet Education Limited, but the lack of an accurate, comprehensive view of costs limited its ability to drive its growth strategy.
The Solution
Navneet Group engaged IBM Global Business Services to drive a transformation of its publishing business. The company replaced its manual processes with fully integrated best practices supported by SAP ERP software. The solution forms the basis for operations across the company, including three manufacturing plants, export and domestic departments, and three sales offices, for a total of 200 users.
