The Challenge
The traditional education system has been facing numerous challenges, especially with the advent of remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The need for a platform that could make learning interactive, fun, and effective for K-12 learners was evident. Remote Quiz, a social remote learning platform, was acquired by Jerry Hsiang with the aim of transforming it into a leading social learning platform. However, the challenge was to expand its reach and make it more engaging for young learners. The platform needed to allow educators to create quizzes, add images or GIFs to their questions, and share these quizzes with their students in real-time.
About The Customer
Remote Quiz caters to K-12 learners and educators, including both teachers and parents. The platform is designed to make learning fun and interactive for young learners. It allows educators to create quizzes and games that can be shared with students in real-time. The platform has a global user base, with users located in Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It also has corporate accounts from companies like PwC, CBRE Group, Slalom Consulting, Ogilvy Australia, Virgin Care, Kindred Group, and Wessex Water.
The Solution
To overcome these challenges, Hsiang leveraged Bubble's no-code visual web editor to enhance the functionality of Remote Quiz. The platform was designed to allow educators to create their own quizzes using pre-made templates or create their own content. They could also add their own images or select from an image library or GIFs from Giphy to their questions. The quizzes could then be shared with students who could take them in real-time via Google Hangout or Zoom. The platform also provided scores for each learner at the end of the quiz, enabling educators to optimize and customize their teaching lessons based on the areas of improvement for the K-12 learners. The platform was made free for users to join and create or play quizzes.
Operational Impact
  • The use of Bubble's no-code visual web editor has significantly enhanced the functionality and user experience of Remote Quiz. The platform has become more engaging and interactive, making learning fun for K-12 learners. The ability to create quizzes using pre-made templates or custom content has provided educators with the flexibility to design quizzes that cater to the specific needs of their students. The real-time feature of the quizzes has also made learning more dynamic and effective. Furthermore, the platform's scoring system has enabled educators to identify areas of improvement for learners and customize their teaching lessons accordingly. The platform's global reach has also expanded, attracting users from various countries and corporate accounts from several companies.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Remote Quiz has over 1,300 registered learners.
  • The platform has 100 registered educator accounts.
  • Over 16,000 questions have been answered on the platform.
