Cure Forward, an innovative healthcare platform, aimed to revolutionize the traditional approach to cancer treatment by building a network that connects patients with each other and with clinical trial providers. The challenge was to create a digital solution that would enable cancer patients to explore clinical trials as a treatment option. The platform also needed to provide access to educational information based on a user’s molecular diagnostic test results and facilitate communication between cancer patients and survivors. The client required a complex 5 in 1 web application with a simple and intuitive UX design, allowing patients to effortlessly add their details to the database. The design had to be engaging and encouraging, considering the social aspect of the product.
Cure Forward is a leading digital platform that empowers cancer patients to identify targeted therapies and clinical trials available in the US. The platform connects patients, clinical trial sponsors, diagnostic testing laboratories, and healthcare providers. Cure Forward's business idea was to change the traditional approach to cancer treatment by building a network that connects patients with each other and with clinical trial providers. They aimed to create a digital solution that would make it possible for patients with cancer to explore such treatment options as clinical trials and provide access to educational information based on a user’s molecular diagnostic test results.
The solution involved the development of a multisided platform with five integrated web applications. The Patient portal allowed patients to enter their data, including molecular diagnostic test results, enabling the implementation of a precise medicine approach. The Recruiter portal was designed for pharmaceutical companies and clinical trial providers to create accounts and fill in forms with a detailed description of the patient’s profile they were seeking. The Admin console was an application for patient guides to add data for non-tech-savvy patients. The Manager portal was for clinical administrators who work directly with the patients selected for trials. Curelinker was developed for adding laboratory molecular diagnostic test results ordered by patients’ physicians automatically to the database. The UI design was made consistent and intuitive, and a flexible form for patients was developed that automatically adjusted to a user based on their answers and showed only relevant fields.
