The Challenge
MB Bank, a rapidly growing retail bank in Vietnam, was struggling to manage its growth and the large influx of new customers. The bank was dealing with time-consuming, manual processes including new customer onboarding and a slow online banking system. Loan approvals were taking too long, increasing the risk of losing potential new customers to faster competitors. It was also difficult to identify where mistakes or errors had been made along the process chain. The bank wanted to build a computerized business process management system that could streamline and centralize its processes, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
About The Customer
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank—MB Bank—was established in 1994 and is headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam. The bank offers commercial lending and financial services for clients in four countries - Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Russia. It has 15,000 employees and 4 million clients. The bank is recognized as an outstanding retail bank by the 2019 Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards. However, it was struggling to manage rapid growth and a large influx of new customers. Its employees had to contend with many time-consuming, manual processes including: new customer onboarding and a slow online banking system.
The Solution
MB Bank's initial solution was to implement webMethods Business Process Management Suite (BPMS) to help tie together its many disparate systems. This gave the bank end-to-end control and visibility of its processes, enabling it to align business with IT when creating solutions. Most recently, MB Bank has implemented webMethods CentraSite for API management and SOA. CentraSite enabled the bank to create a central, platform-independent application for defining, storing and describing assets. It can now re-use its data in all its branches and subsidiaries, reducing the need for manual intervention and giving the team back hours of working time.
