The Challenge
VectorUSA, a managed service provider based in California, was facing significant challenges with their internal data center located in Rancho Cucamonga. The company was experiencing connectivity issues with their Internet Service Provider (ISP), and their on-premises monitoring solution was not alerting them to these problems. This lack of alerting posed a significant risk, as any system downtime in the middle of the night could result in the loss of valuable data or service for their customers. The company needed a solution that could provide external alerts when an ISP issue occurred, thereby preventing potential data loss and service disruption.
About The Customer
VectorUSA is a managed service provider that designs, builds, and maintains efficient, effective, and secure data, voice, and video networks. The company provides custom technology solutions for a diverse range of clients, including schools, ports and terminals, hospitals, commercial enterprises, and government agencies. Headquartered in California, VectorUSA has multiple locations within the state and employs a team of 350 professionals. The company's internal data center is located in Rancho Cucamonga.
The Solution
VectorUSA turned to LogicMonitor's cloud-based data collection and reporting solution to address their connectivity issues. This solution provided the team with clear visibility into which circuits were problematic and which were experiencing intermittent connectivity. With this data, VectorUSA was able to demonstrate to their ISP that the connectivity issues were not related to their own infrastructure. As a result, the ISP took responsibility for the connectivity issues and stepped up to assist. This allowed VectorUSA to receive immediate alerts when their internal systems experienced any downtime, thereby preventing potential data loss and service disruption.
