The Challenge
Westwood Laboratories, a contract manufacturer of liquid-based personal care products, was using an older version of BatchMaster integrated with Sage PFW accounting to run their business. However, Sage retired PFW accounting and with it, the older version of BatchMaster used by Westwood Laboratories. This posed a challenge for Westwood Laboratories as they needed a solution to continue running their business efficiently. Additionally, as an FDA licensed company, Westwood Laboratories needed to track inventory lot detail for every inventory item they received into the plant and keep detailed records of all QC testing and results. They needed a solution that could help them manage these requirements and be compliant with FDA regulations.
About The Customer
Westwood Laboratories is a private label, personal care products manufacturer based in Azusa, California. The company has been in the industry since 1948 and specializes in the production of liquid-based personal care products, including cosmetic, skin, hair, sun, bath and body care products, men's personal care, and pet care products. Westwood Laboratories is FDA licensed and follows all the protocols required for this licensing. The company employs staff with longevity in the industry and offers its customers the highest level of customer service and the most advanced formulations through its R&D lab. Westwood Laboratories was voted “Best Green Company to Work For and Best Overall Company to Work For Awards,” given by the LA News Group Winning Workplaces poll in 2014.
The Solution
BatchMaster Software provided Westwood Laboratories with the next generation solution, BatchMaster Enterprise, which was integrated with Sage 300 ERP financials. This solution helped Westwood Laboratories track inventory lot detail for every inventory item they received into the plant and keep detailed records of all QC testing and results. BatchMaster Enterprise tracks all QC detail from inventory receipt through finished goods production. This allows Westwood Laboratories to demonstrate all the details of inventory and production QC history during FDA audits. The solution also consolidates the internal lot tracking number, vendor lot number along with PO receipt control number and receipt date onto one report, eliminating the tedious tracking of this related information.

Improving Vending Machine Profitability with the Internet of Things (IoT)
The vending industry is undergoing a sea change, taking advantage of new technologies to go beyond just delivering snacks to creating a new retail location. Intelligent vending machines can be found in many public locations as well as company facilities, selling different types of goods and services, including even computer accessories, gold bars, tickets, and office supplies. With increasing sophistication, they may also provide time- and location-based data pertaining to sales, inventory, and customer preferences. But at the end of the day, vending machine operators know greater profitability is driven by higher sales and lower operating costs.

Revolutionizing Rodent Control
From pet- and child-safe traps, to touch-free and live-catch rodent control solutions, Victor continues to stay committed to producing superior products that meet the varying needs of today’s pest control professionals. And, with a long standing history supporting customers in the food processing, service, and retail settings, Victor knew that strict regulations were costing organizations thousands of dollars in excess overhead trying to manage their rodent-control solutions. Trap inspections in these environments are often difficult and time consuming, requiring personnel to manually check a trap’s status multiple times per day, amounting to over six hours of manual labor. Victor is looking for an innovative way to increase operational efficiencies with the use of technology.
