Client
A European leader in the construction materials industry sought to establish a new innovation presence in China.
Challenge
The client planned to open an innovation hub in China but needed to first determine the ideal structure and regional location. They aimed to leverage existing capabilities while maintaining some distance from their core operations. The client also needed to define a footprint that would meet current needs and enable future growth.
Objectives
Approach
Asia Growth Partners collaborated with the client’s global Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to assess their existing capabilities and determine the most suitable regional location.
  • Evaluate the regional fit of different areas with the company’s strategic priorities and existing infrastructure.
  • Identify key activities to be performed in both current facilities and the future innovation hub.
  • Shortlist potential locations and provide detailed recommendations to the client.
Result
  • Delivered a comprehensive evaluation of China's eastern, southern, and northern regions, identifying strengths and weaknesses in alignment with the client’s goals.
  • Helped define the division of tasks between existing facilities and the new hub.
  • Five potential facilities were shortlisted as strong candidates for the innovation hub.
