Asia Airfreight Terminal Enhances Operational Efficiency with CommScope's RUCKUS Solutions
Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a leading cargo handling company based out of Hong Kong International Airport, was facing challenges with its Wi-Fi network, which was critical for the functioning of its automated Material Handling System (MHS) within the warehouse. Any interference or lost signals could directly impact their operational efficiency. AAT also had separate networks for their office and CCTV cameras, which made the job of their data center challenging. The company was in search of a Wi-Fi network configuration that could streamline their networks and reduce its network management workload. AAT was already running on equipment from a competing vendor, and the new solution needed to prove its worth in scalability and reliability.

Enhancing Safety and Communication in Tunnel Construction with IoT: Ausgrid’s CityGrid Project
Ausgrid, Australia’s largest public utility, embarked on an ambitious $800 million upgrade project, codenamed CityGrid, aimed at supplying sufficient power to Sydney’s central business district through 2024 and injecting extra backup capabilities into the power grid for optimal future reliability. The project involved constructing up to four new interconnected substations, replacing and upgrading key high-voltage cables, and adding a new 8-kilometer City East tunnel. During the construction process, teams were working up to 55 meters below the surface, and maintaining open communication between the maintenance staff and teams working deeper within the tunnel was a challenge. Ausgrid used a simplex radio channel via the New South Wales Government Radio Network (NSWGRN) for this purpose, but this method had major drawbacks and limitations. It drew maintenance staff away from their daily monitoring and repair duties, forcing them to rely on land lines, escorts, and face-to-face meetings to connect with tunnel construction teams.

Equinix and CommScope's Successful Collaboration on a Time-Sensitive Forex Project
The world of foreign exchange (forex) trading is a high-stakes, high-speed environment where milliseconds can equate to millions of dollars. Equinix, a provider of multi-tenant data center space and interconnection services for some of the world's largest forex service providers, was approached by a client in late 2015 with a complex challenge. The client required fast, secure connections for forex trading, latency equalization for a level playing field, and the installation of an underground Outside Plant (OSP) without the ability to test before deployment. The project was further complicated by a tight deadline and zero margin for error, necessitating a flawless partnership and high degree of technical expertise.
