To address the challenges posed by Voldemort, eHarmony selected Redis Enterprise for its real-time database operations. Redis Enterprise's flexible data structures, such as the Hash data structure, allowed eHarmony to simplify the storage of user activity and reduce the operational burden. Initially used for user authentication, Redis's role expanded to include all real-time use cases, enabling eHarmony to deliver personalized experiences to hundreds of thousands of concurrent users. To further minimize operational overhead, eHarmony deployed Redis Enterprise Pack, which offers high performance, flexibility, and simplicity without the complexities of maintaining multiple Redis instances.
