挑战
The Quality Manager at a privately-held injection molding company faced a critical issue: freeing staff from non-value-added data manipulation activities. The quality team inspected samples of complex products using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and manually entered data into a statistics package for analysis. This process was time-consuming and error-prone, requiring a half-time job on each of two shifts. The company leadership aimed to redirect staff from these tasks to more productive activities by automating the data collection process, thereby reducing measurement errors and freeing up staff for more valuable work.

These capabilities help clients improve throughput and yield, improve cycle times, reduce costs and errors, and increase profitability.
解决方案
Hertzler Systems set up a process to automatically extract and analyze critical inspection data directly from the CMM. The system automatically evaluates new data for stability and notifies key personnel of any out-of-control situations. This automation significantly reduced the time required to collect and analyze data, from four hours per shift to less than 45 minutes, an 81% reduction. The Quality Manager believes this time will decrease even further as users become more familiar with the process. The automation also eliminated typographical errors common in the manual process, increasing the reliability of the data. As a result, users are more confident in making decisions and taking actions based on the data.

Improving Vending Machine Profitability with the Internet of Things (IoT)
The vending industry is undergoing a sea change, taking advantage of new technologies to go beyond just delivering snacks to creating a new retail location. Intelligent vending machines can be found in many public locations as well as company facilities, selling different types of goods and services, including even computer accessories, gold bars, tickets, and office supplies. With increasing sophistication, they may also provide time- and location-based data pertaining to sales, inventory, and customer preferences. But at the end of the day, vending machine operators know greater profitability is driven by higher sales and lower operating costs.

Revolutionizing Rodent Control
From pet- and child-safe traps, to touch-free and live-catch rodent control solutions, Victor continues to stay committed to producing superior products that meet the varying needs of today’s pest control professionals. And, with a long standing history supporting customers in the food processing, service, and retail settings, Victor knew that strict regulations were costing organizations thousands of dollars in excess overhead trying to manage their rodent-control solutions. Trap inspections in these environments are often difficult and time consuming, requiring personnel to manually check a trap’s status multiple times per day, amounting to over six hours of manual labor. Victor is looking for an innovative way to increase operational efficiencies with the use of technology.
